GdS: Running, assists and now goals – Leao bags his first with the No.10 shirt

Rafael Leao scored his first goal of the season as AC Milan beat Roma 2-1 last night, finding the back of the net with an acrobatic finish. As highlighted by the newspapers, the winger is now a complete player.

Leao renewed his contract with Milan with one game left of the previous season and celebrated with two goals against Hellas Verona. However, yesterday’s strike was his first with the No.10 shirt, making it extra special.

As stated in today’s edition of Gazzetta Dello Sport (via SempreMilan), Leao is now used to performing on a very high level. He’s no longer a player that shows glimpses of his qualities only to end up with nothing: today the end product is there.

At Bologna he finished the game with cramp, against Torino he was the assist man, and last night he found the back of the net himself: running, assists and goals. This is what Leao gives to his side, now more than ever before.

Stefano Pioli has been asking for Leao to make his way into the box more and yesterday he did just that, scoring the decisive 2-1 goal. He will have to keep this up, as the Rossoneri could go far with him in this form.
