GdS: Terracciano to make first start for Milan against Roma – his position

By Isak Möller -

Filippo Terracciano was announced by AC Milan earlier this week and he came off the bench in the mid-week clash against Atalanta. As per a report, the youngster could make his first start for the Rossoneri against Roma tomorrow.

Milan secured the signing of Terraciano on Monday as the 20-year-old signed a four-and-a-half-year deal with the club. He got to make his debut for the club in the Coppa Italia clash against Atalanta on Wednesday, coming off the bench.

As reported by Gazzetta dello Sport (see photo below), Terracciano is set to make his first league appearance and start for Milan tomorrow. The Rossoneri will take on Roma and Stefano Pioli wants to keep Theo Hernandez at centre-back, starting Terracciano on the left instead.

The youngster Alex Jimenez is an option but he didn’t have a good evening against Atalanta, causing the penalty and struggling in defence. Therefore, with a bit more experience, Pioli will most likely opt for the former Verona man instead.

The pressure is on Pioli and his men to bounce back with a strong performance, in front of a sold-out San Siro as well. It will be interesting to see how the new signing will cope, in other words.

  1. This is completely INSANE! We have so many own young players who already scoring goals but no we sign and now play a guy who was really bad against Atalanta. I just dont freaking get it!

    1. I hope you dont talk about terraciano he was very good vs atalanta.Combined with leao and won freekicks. He had only trained 1 training with the team and already playing good

      1. Agreed. For someone who just got thrown in he was good. Hopefully he can do good against Roma. That being said, Theo should be LB and simic/kjaer should be cbs. No brainer given theos effect going forward.

      2. Why Theo again at CB. Gambia, Kjaer and Simic. choose two out of them at CB.

I can’t wait for Pioli to be sack. Theo at CB against any decent team is disaster. I foresee theo comment penalty tomorrow. All the best to the team.

  2. Terra looked pretty good against Atalanta. Hope the San Siro pressure doesn’t get to him. He is is also young and will make mistakes. Gonna have to be patient with him, like with Jimenez and the likes.

For those of you calling for Simic, what do you think Gabbia is? An older more developed Simic – Milan youth product. Pioli completely justified here.

    1. Completely disagree mate. There’s a reason they loaned our Gabbia and he has been a shocker since day dot. Plays well in the easy games but a calamity generally, who can forget the huge loss at san siro to Sassuolo, man was chasing shadows. That being said, he looked more accomplished in his time on the pitch against atalanta but for me I’d feel more comfortable with Simic. On a separate note idk why we’re looking for another cb, soon enough tomori and thiaw will be back… We need a CDM at some point whether it be now or end of the season.

      1. Which Sassuolo game are u referring to? I don’t understand why ppl are talking about this Sassuolo game. I can’t recall Gabbia having a bad game vs them. He has an error here or there but he’s quite solid

        1. The 5-2 loss at san siro. He’s not a Milan player, anyone who’s watched enough of him knows that. Like I said bro there’s a reason we loaned him out
