GdS: Theo handed key role for Milan-Napoli amid partner in crime’s absence

Rafael Leao will miss out on AC Milan’s encounter with Napoli this evening, following the red card he received last time out. On the left flank, it’s a big opportunity for Theo Hernandez to step up without his partner in crime.

The Frenchman has started this season well and continues to be an important player for the Rossoneri. Thus far, he has registered one goal and will be looking to add a few assists to his tally.

As highlighted by today’s edition of Gazzetta Dello Sport (via MilanNews), Hernandez will have to make do without his partner in crime. Obviously a blow for both him and Milan, but it’s also an opportunity to step up and shine.

His pace will be very important for Milan as Leao’s replacement, either Krunic or Saelemaekers, won’t have the same speed as the Portuguese. Allowing Hernandez to overlap more often will probably be one of the solutions, therefore.

Stefano Pioli has a lot of faith in his players and especially in Hernandez, who has improved both defensively and offensively in the last few months. He’s almost complete, now he just needs to make the most of his qualities.
