GdS: Three strikers face uncertain future as Milan eye summer revamp

By Isak Möller -

An entire department hanging in the balance. Once the season is back underway, Milan will work hard to reach a spot in the Europe zone. To do so, they will need as much help as they can get from their strikers.

The problem, however, is that none of the three centre-forwards is ‘serene’. For Ante Rebic, Rafael Leao and Zlatan Ibrahimovic the future is uncertain. In today’s edition of Gazzetta Dello Sport (via MilanNews.it), the situation is analyzed.

Starting with the Swede, he’s no longer a youngster. On the other hand, he’s the absolute leader of the Rossoneri attack, which makes his situation even more complicated. His contract will expire in the summer and a renewal is yet to be seen.

As for the Portuguese 20-year-old, Milan paid €28m to Lille for his services in the summer. However, his adventure hasn’t gone as planned and the last games of the season will be crucial to determine his future. Perhaps a loan spell could be the solution.

Although there will be one year left on his loan after this season, this discussion also concerns Ante Rebic. There is plenty of time to negotiate a permanent move with Eintracht Frankfurt, although the price tag could be a roadblock.

However, above all, will the player want to stay? This is the question that the newspaper asks this morning, also taking the departure of Zvone Boban into account. In short, the attacking department is under review for the Rossoneri.
