GdS: Udinese’s equaliser against Milan should have been disallowed – foul is clear

By Isak Möller -

In spite of the fact that they only got one point from the game against Udinese last night, AC Milan remain at the top of the standings as Inter also drew. It could have been three points for the Rossoneri, though, as VAR made a mistake.

On Udinese’s equaliser, Udogie handled the ball and there was initially a VAR check. Guida deemed the goal to be within the rules, though, and referee Marchetti’s initial decision stood but this has since been labelled as an incorrect decision.

Today’s edition of Gazzetta Dello Sport (via MilanNews) analysed the incident and as per the newspaper, it was a clear handball. In fact, the replays show that Alessio Romagnoli didn’t get a touch on the ball and only Udogie did (with his arm).

Once again, Milan got hard done by the referees, although it must be said that their performance really wasn’t good enough. It’s obviously demoralising to keep getting these decisions against you, though.
