GdS: Predicted XIs for Sassuolo vs. AC Milan – Jashari shifts into gear

AC Milan are up against Sassuolo this afternoon and since Luka Modric is out injured, Ardon Jashari will get the chance from start in midfield.

The end of the season is fast approaching as today’s clash is the penultimate one away from home for Milan. The goal is clear: grab three points and take a massive step towards qualifying for the Chamoions League, especially after the draw between Napoli and Como.

That said, the Rossoneri have struggled quite a lot lately and definitely need to shake things up to bounce back. According to today’s edition of Gazzetta dello Sport (see photo at the bottom), Massimiliano Allegri is looking to achieve this by making three changes.

Three changes in total

As mentioned at the start, Jashari is one of them, even if that change is a bit more forced due to Modric’s injury. The other two should be Pervis Estupinan, replacing Davide Bartesaghi, and Christopoher Nkunku, replacing Christian Pulisic.

In total, therefore, three changes are expected from the draw against Juventus last weekend. It will cwertainly be interesting to see how Estupinan will handle Domenico Berardi, who is back in action after serving a two-game suspension.

Let’s put it this way, the Sassuolo veteran has caused many issues for Milan in the past…

Predicted Milan XI (3-5-2): Maignan; Tomori, Gabbia, Pavlovic; Saelemaekers, Fofana, Jashari, Rabiot, Estupinan; Nkunku, Leao.

Predicted Sassuolo XI (4-3-3): Turati; Walukiewicz, Muharemovic, Ides, Garcia; Thorstvedt, Matic, Kone; Berardi, Pinamonti, Lauriente.

  1. They say one thing and do another. I thought the initial plan was to manage Modric due to his age while we strongly introduced Jashari and Rico. It seems the veteran is being run into the ground, only then is Jash considered.

    1. Modric is a freak of nature and played 2-3 games a week most of his career. The regista position also requires less meters per game then the mezzala and we basically only had 1 game a week, at the most, for the majority of the season. Its not been a problem for him to start most games then.

Next year with champions league he will for sure be rested when there is 2 games a week, and Ricci and Jashari will play alot more. It was unfortunate we didnt even have europa or conference league this year to give some players more minutes.

      1. One game a week is no excuse, Alegri just didn’t have any plan for a team play, hence the reliance on modric who needs less coaching. Jashari could have been coming in as a sub but we never see that happening.

        1. Yes, he choose to sub in Ricci often and though Fofana needs to be substituted more. I mean Ricc did get around 15 games total if we do 90 minutes as a game. What is your excuse for thinking you know better? 😀

        2. And Ricci played about the same minutes that Tonali played when he joined Milan. Were you saying that same about Pioli at that time? 😀

  2. We really need that striker who leads the line, the current ones just gonna drop deep and neither will challenge the opposition cbs position, hard to score goals when there is nobody creating space
