Giroud eager to continue goalscoring vs. Samp: “I feel like part of the family” – video

Olivier Giroud showed just why AC Milan signed him during the friendly clash against Panathinaikos last night. He bagged a brace within the first 45 minutes and was a constant threat up front.

The Frenchman certainly secured himself a confidence boost ahead of the season opener in one week’s time. With Ibrahimovic still out injured, he’s expected to play the game against Sampdoria from the first minute.

In an interview with MilanTV after the game, which you can see in the video below, Giroud spoke about the performance and the chemistry with his teammates.

“I feel better and better on the pitch, physically we work hard at Milanello. I think we started the game very strongly with great intensity and with a desire to play our football. We had a lot of chances, I had great assists from Fik [Tomori] and Cala [Calabria] so I was very happy to finish the job.

“We are getting to know each other better and better on the pitch, we have a good understanding. I feel very good with the boys, they always try to find me in the box, we always try to combine. We are very pleased with the result tonight, although maybe we could have scored more.

“I feel like part of the family as I said and we all received a nice welcome from the fans. And obviously when I scored, I heard them say my name so yeah it’s always good for a striker to find the back of the net. I hope to score in Serie A now, already next week,” he concluded.
