Olivier Giroud was the hero for AC Milan during their win over Napoli last night but there was some concern about two separate injuries he picked up.
There was a moment of worry when Giroud went down in the first half in pain after a strong challenge from Koulibaly that gave him a huge open wound, and then after scoring the winner he limped off during the second half with what appeared to be an ankle problem.
MilanNews reports that after yesterday’s win against Napoli, Stefano Pioli gave the squad a day off in view of Saturday night’s match against Andreazzoli’s Empoli. The Rossoneri will return to training at Milanello tomorrow, and that is when Giroud will be evaluated after his two ankle injuries.
It is worth noting that Giroud spoke to DAZN after the game and was asked about his physical condition, to which he replied: “Sprained ankle in the second half, but also in the first half with that injury… A little annoyance but I am happy with the goal and for the fans.”
