AC Milan striker Olivier Giroud was visibly thrilled to meet his childhood idol Andriy Shevchenko at training on Wednesday, a report claims.
As has been reported by Milan News, the Rossoneri were visited at Milanello by former striker Shevchenko as well as former defender Mauro Tassotti.
This was a big deal for Giroud who regards Shevchenko as being his favourite striker whilst he was growing up and getting into football.
The pair had a long chat once training had finished and it is reported that Giroud was clearly over the moon at having this interaction.
Shevchenko is a Milan legend and played 332 times for the Diavolo. He netted an incredible 175 goals and got 45 assists during his time at Milan.
Giroud has been the main striker at Milan for a couple of seasons now and fans will hope that he takes some inspiration from meeting one of the best to hold that title.
