Hauge ‘fine at Milan’ but leaves door open for exit: “We’ll see what happens”

By Isak Möller -

Jens Petter Hauge has been in the spotlight recently as his future with Milan isn’t exactly certain, after what was a season with little playing time. For next season, there are various solutions to consider, including a loan.

The Norwegian youngster arrive from Bodo/Glimt ahead of this past season and impressed the Rossoneri fans with most of his appearances. In fact, he got five goals and one assist across all competitions during the course of the season.

However, after scoring an important goal against Sampdoria to draw Milan level, Hauge didn’t play a single minute and spent the season finale on the bench. A decision made by Stefano Pioli, which left many confused.

In an interview with Eurosport (via MilanNews), back in Norway to watch Bodo play, Hauge spoke about his first season with Milan. He made it very clear that he’s happy at the club but admitted that a decision will have to be made.

On joining Milan…

“For me, playing for AC Milan, such an important club with so many champions, is a dream come true. I couldn’t say no to such an opportunity.”

On the year that has gone…

“It was very positive, also because it was the first in Italian football and I had to learn many things. Maybe I didn’t play as much as I wanted, but the season was long and I had my opportunities: I’m satisfied anyway.”

On the Italian league…

“It’s never easy when you leave your country, where you have always lived and played, at any moment to move to a more difficult football. It wasn’t easy, but the club and my teammates helped me immediately.”

On the future…

“My desire is to play more and express myself as much as possible. I know there are different teams interested in me, but I’m fine at Milan, I’m happy to wear this shirt. We’ll see what happens over the course of the summer.”

  1. Tbh he is better than Rebic and Leao and should start over them anyway but that bald scum Pioli won’t start him. Fckin clown

  2. I did not like the Pioli choice when he was selected as a coach.

I still do not like him coaching Milan. There is reason why he never won a trophy in his career which include coaching Inter, Lazio, Forentina & Milan.

For the season that just ended, Milan had the scudetto in the bag if not for Pioli.

His decision to always play Hakan who is a liability is disappointing for me.

Hauge, is the most unpredictable player of Milan which is always a joker for any team. However, Pioli in his lack ambition failed to utilize Hauge properly
