Higuain: “I am not surprised to see Milan in third; I left friends there”

By Oliver Fisher -

Gonzalo Higuain has admitted that he is not surprised to see his former side AC Milan in third place.

The Argentine made the move to the Premier League in January, cutting short an unsuccessful loan stint with the Rossoneri.

He scored the opener in Chelsea’s 2-1 Premier League victory over Fulham at Craven Cottage on Sunday, while on Saturday night Milan moved third with a win over Sassuolo.

“It was a difficult start to the season for me, I am in a new team, the past is in the past and I have to focus on Chelsea now,” Higuain told Sky Italia.

“I am not surprised to see Milan in third place, as they have a great team, great Coach, I left friends there. Sometimes in football, things just don’t work out.

“I made a decision that I thought would go better. They are doing well too, so everyone’s happy.”
