Hungarian source gives crucial update on Milan and Arsenal’s interest in Szoboszlai

AC Milan are not in line to secure the signing of Red Bull Salzburg playmaker Dominik Szoboszlai contrary to recent reports, it is claimed.

La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanLive) reported earlier this week that the 20-year-old will likely leave the Austrian club as early as January 2021, and that another attempt to sign him by Milan cannot be excluded after two previous negotiations.

Calciomercato.com then added that the Rossoneri are still monitoring Szoboszlai and contacts have remained alive with sporting director Frederic Massara, who is a big fan of the Hungarian. Competition is high as Inter, Arsenal and some other English and Spanish clubs are keen.

Now, Hungarian outlet Index (via SportsMole) are reporting that Szoboszlai’s agent Esterházy – who owns EM Sports Consulting Kft – was at a Forbes event in Hungary this week and discussed interest in his client’ outside in the hallway’.

They confirm that Milan’s interest has been ‘re-established’ in the press recently, but he will not be signing for the Rossoneri, and instead he is likely to end up ‘staying in the German-speaking world’ hinting that a Bundesliga move is likely.

Despite this, they do add that Esterházy confirmed that ‘Arsenal’s interest is real’ and refused to disclose his own thoughts on where his client will end up.
