Di Marzio: Good news from Milanello as key trio train entirely with the squad

By Oliver Fisher -

Some good news has arrived from Milanello after today’s session as three players returned to full training with the rest of the squad in view of Saturday’s game.

Gianluca Di Marzio reports that all the players trained as a squad today at the sports centre which means that the only players who will not be part of the team for the match will be Theo Hernandez, who is suspended, and of course Simon Kjaer whose season is over after a ligament injury.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic trained with the group as did Olivier Giroud, despite the blow he suffered in Naples when Kalidou Koulibaly caught him with a tough challenge, so Pioli will have both strikers available for the visit of Empoli who are yet to win in 2022.

The most significant return might be that of captain Alessio Romagnoli, who was forced to miss the game against Napoli due to an injury he sustained in the first half of the Coppa Italia derby against Inter, though he was replaced well by Pierre Kalulu so Pioli has a selection dilemma there.

  1. the most significant return is Romagnioli ? for god’s sake he is just a liability that is unfortunately going to force Pioli on benching a consistent kalulu
