Ibrahimovic believes there is ‘no favourite’ in Milan vs. Tottenham clashes

By Isak Möller -

Zlatan Ibrahimovic is currently recovering from knee surgery and he’s expected o be back at the start of 2023. He might be available for AC Milan’s games against Tottenham, in other words.

The Rossoneri will face Spurs in the Champions League round of 16. The first leg will take place on February 14th and it will be played at San Siro. The second leg will be played on March 8th and the feeling is that it could be a close affair.

Speaking to Sky Italia (read full interview here), Ibrahimovic was asked about Milan getting Tottenham in the draw. He stated that there isn’t a favourite and that it will be two close games.

“The Champions League is always difficult. It will be an open match, there is no favourite. You have to feel good when the time comes,” he stated.

The World Cup break comes at a good time for Milan as they have dropped in form lately. Furthermore, the injured players will be able to work without any pressure and thus return at the start of 2023.

In addition to Ibrahimovic, the likes of Mike Maignan, Davide Calabria and Alexis Saelemaekers should all be available for the Spurs game.
