Sky: Ibrahimovic or Rebic to lead the line against Udinese in Giroud’s absence

By Oliver Fisher -

Stefano Pioli has one major doubt to resolve in view of Saturday night’s game against Udinese at the Dacia Arena, a report claims.

According to Sky, Olivier Giroud’s absence due to disqualification after picking up a fifth yellow card of the season against Salernitana means there must be a change in the attacking department.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been back on the field in the last three Serie A games and the Swede trained on Thursday with the rest of the squad, but his physical condition is not yet optimal which is why Pioli could opt to bring him off the bench again.

Ibrahimovic’s last start dates back to January 2022 against Juventus, 417 days ago, while the alternative is Ante Rebic. The coach will resolve his doubts only on Friday during the final training session.

That session will take place on Friday morning, precisely in conjunction with the draw for the quarter-finals of the Champions League. The event will be followed by Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara who will communicate the outcome of the draw to Stefano Pioli in real time, then the coach will tell the team.

    1. What you saying..? Origi should be behind zlatan and rebic in the selection, he haven’t done much ever since arriving. I will opt for rebic to start
