GdS: Ibrahimovic has unfinished business with Calhanoglu – why he feels ‘cheated’

By Oliver Fisher -

While Zlatan Ibrahimovic will not be on the pitch for tonight’s derby against Inter, he may well decide to have a word with Hakan Calhanoglu.

This morning’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport (via SempreMilan.it) states that Ibrahimovic has ‘unfinished business’ with Calhanoglu, whose words after the Supercoppa win a couple of weeks ago have further exacerbated relations with Milan.

In particular he seems to have irritated Ibrahimovic, who had an axe to grind before anyway as the Swede in fact acted as an intermediary during the talks over the renewal of the Turkish playmaker in the 2020-21 season with Paolo Maldini.

However, the former Bayer Leverkusen man ended up not renewing his deal with Milan and in the end he signed with Inter which nullified any good relations he had with Ibrahimovic and with the Rossoneri management.

The report states that Ibra felt ‘cheated’ by the way Calhanoglu decided to sign for a rival club when he tried to help the situation between him and Milan.
