Stefano Pioli and his AC Milan clinched yet another three points last night, beating Roma 2-1 away from home. It was an important win not only for the Rossoneri but also the manager, who reached an important milestone.
As was highlighted by Milan after the game, Pioli is only the second manager in the club’s history to reach 300 points with the Rossoneri in Serie A. The first manager to achieve this was Carlo Ancelotti, which says a lot.

It should be mentioned that some of the legendary managers would have been present had it not been for a win being worth just two points back in the day. Nevertheless, Pioli deserves a lot of praise for 89 wins and 34 draws in 148 games.
Milan will take on Inter after the international break and it remains to be seen if they can continue on the winning path. Certainly, it’s been a very good and confident start to the season.
As you wrote yourself, this stat is a bit faulty since they played for 2 points before. The one that gives a much better view of coaches and where are they ranked is % of wins.
Iirc there was previous articles that mention this percentage, and Pioli also rank high on that list.
According to Wikipedia, Pioli has 54.97% winning percentage in all official matches until the game against Roma. Since 1970s the only manager with higher winning percentage in all matches are Fabio Capello’s first tenure (1991-1996, 57.03%) and Carlo Ancelotti (
2001-2009, 56.67%). He is higher than the likes of Arrigo Sacchi (1987-1991, 54.08%) and Massimiliano Allegri (2010-2014, 51.12%)
So he is by no means bad coach.
I only said that is the only fair rating, don’t know what you’re talking about someone being a bad coach or what. Who said that?
And people here were screaming Pioli Out based on preseason.
Kudos to him for gelling the team. I was sceptic due to such changes and number of new players coming in but Pioli really had a plan on what he needs and how he wants to play.
I do hope they keep the momentum going.
Pioli been doing a great job with Milan in these years.
Since oct 2019 only time he really f’d up was in jan-feb this year.

How many goals can we score this season Giroud 20 possibly even more this season ..I have already told you so ,in advance, not after the season ends .
Pulisic perhaps around 15 – 20 Rafeo leao possible around 20..Then Loftus Cheek around 10 – 15
Loftus cheek may well be our best signing this season, just as Olivier Giroud was two seasons ago .
Can we win the scuddeto this season ,can we beat inter in a couple of weeks time ,of course we can .
