MN: Investcorp expected to opt for continuity in management but Gazidis’ future is unclear

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan’s potential new owners Investcorp are expected to adopt the line of continuity rather than going for a radical overhaul, a report claims.

According to MilanNews, the sporting side of the management should remain in place in the event that the Bahrain-based fund do buy the club from Elliott Management for a figure expected to be around the €1.1bn mark.

Technical director Paolo Maldini has an important and specific weight both in his role and as an icon, especially in the Middle East where there is a large Rossoneri fanbase who recognise former champions such as him.

In the summer market Maldini and sporting director Ricky Massara could operate ‘more aggressively’ if they had more resources, and they have already done an excellent job in building a competitive squad with smaller resources.

What must be understood is the future of CEO Ivan Gazidis, who is a great professional and one of the key figures in the club’s financial resurgence. Just as Elliott wanted Gazidis, it cannot be excluded that Investcorp have their own CEO in mind.
