With two strikers heading towards exits, AC Milan are considering a double incoming in January, and it is definitely a move with ambition at its root.
Throughout the January mercato, there have been talks about Milan making ambitious moves in the window, and whilst he may be older than the RedBird ‘mould’, it can be suggested that Kyle Walker was the first sign of this.

Since then, Samuele Ricci and Santiago Gimenez have been the two big hitters listed as potential targets, and now a third, yet still ambitious idea, has come to light.
According to Alessandro Jacobone, the Rossoneri are considering a ‘double hit’ in the striker market. Should Alvaro Morata leave the club, which looks likely, and Luka Jovic follow him to an exit, the Diavolo would be ‘tempted by’ the idea of adding Gimenez and Lorenzo Lucca to the squad.
The journalist states that the idea has ‘prevailed’ due to the limited time left in the mercato, and the ‘moment of crisis’ in which the club finds itself after last night’s humiliation in Croatia. As a result, a frenzy has broken out.
Considering Monza was the likely destination for Jovic, whether the signing of Francesco Camarda will deter a move for Jovic, and in turn perhaps both strikers, will have to be seen.

Again waiting till the last day of the market like sitting ducks. This team is turning into another Roma with this management.
Bro the delusions of us signing Lucca, Gimenez and Ricci in 4 days is laughable… if it was any other management I would believe this but not Furlani, Ibra, Moncada clowns…
At some point there has to be a boy of no confidence in this management by the board.
We need to see how the mercato ends. But so far it’s looking bleak, no question.
We will see but yes , this is the best options to buy both strikers , because just solo Gimenez is nothing , if he will be injured we have just two strikers…
+ I still think we need to change system to 4-4-2 …
Mercato is open another 4 days , we don’t have enough time and need few more players ( also hope for more depart like Okafor, Tomori, RLC , Morata and also Chukwueze to make a money and space)
what happens if Tiji, Leao, Theo, or Puli are injured?
We have players .. for Leao there is Chaka Traore, for Theo there is Bartesaghi who play good game against Parma , for Pulisic there is main problem we don’t have adequate alternative, because even Chuk is not good and for Tiji there is Benacer or Liberáli.. for Calabria there is Jimenez and Walker. I think we have enough players for second half of the season and if they sell Morata and buy Gimenez and Lucca we are also good in attack
Those are teenagers, not full grown players. We need depth. Real depth.
Milan can be linked to 2,000 players and will not buy anyone
Lol dude you can hate this trio but please speak with fact, we are signing more than a dozen players this last 2 seasons
We’re always signing the third or fourth choice
So whats your point?
lool you can buy even 50 trash players for every mercato session
And what? You still want to say we are not signing anyone?
Sebastian Esposito of Empoli, young, cheap & scoring RW
Some people here said that we will not sign Walker and the man is already with us. Let’s wait, for chrissake…
Lol, is a 35 year old walker special, Michael kayode or singo we could have had them
I would get Lucca first and then Gimenez. If Morata is out, and Gimenez is injured who is going to play on Sunday? + at the moment we need some strong in the air and strong to win 1v1 dueling and hold the ball to give time to the team.
ur telling me where gonna go from spending 16M in 5 years on strikers to spending a combined 70M for 2 strikers IN JANUARY? )nobody told me april fools came early this year…
I don’t know his situation but why not go for Ayoub El Kaabi. That guy is literally scoring for fun. 20 goals/ 3 assists in league and Europa
Don’t need Giminez. It’s a stupid high value signing in winter of a player where it is not clear that his game will translate to Serie A and is actually what Milan needs.
What was needed was Zirkzee for the likes of Reijnders, Leao and Pulisic to play off and around. Milan didn’t and doesn’t need a spear heard to score poachers goals. Management showed how clueless it is by signing 2 forwards who do not fit the profile (of Zirkzee and Sesko).
Lucca fits the profile and we know that he works in the Serie A where he is excellent with his back to goal and we know that he is deadly taking the limited opportunities he is getting at Udinese this season (and he was a bit wasteful last season).
Redbird has been so frugal to this point. The way in which it is choosing to spend big money (based on what it can or is prepared to spend) is bizarre but is in keeping with the general incompetence of the operation.
I look forward to them brining in a DS from out of Italy, too. That’ll show the Italians how to build squad on a limited budget (as though the Italians have not mastered that art).
If Redbird did not have experience in soccer I would have sworn Milan is its first gig.
This story is better than cinderella one, too good to be happened 🤪
I heard that the UCL lists can only have 3 player changes made to it. So regardless of how many players Milan buys, only 3 can be added and 3 taken off in their places.
There’s no point in buying more than 3 players, unless they were to exclusively play in the Serie A only.
Should be Santi, Walker, and Ricci
Landing in the dream land.. hahaha….
Wake up, u r in dream.
So we’ve been unnecessarily cheap for two years and now they’re going to panic buy out of desperation… Sounds about right
€200+ million isn’t cheap and I’m sure I told you last year’s profit was only €4.06 million and yet here you are lying through your teeth. Shows what kind of person you are.
Just to make sense of your nonsense connecting club’s spending force and profit, here’s a simple common sense question:
According to your logic, if they can’t spend because they only booked a profit of €4,06m, how were they able to spend previous seasons when there was no profit booked and this club was still in red?
Get it in your thick head – profit has nothing to do with spending force. Gosh you are a special kind of stup*d I’ve never seen before. How can you still go on with this complete nonsense of a theory and not be embarrassed saying it our loud? It’s something a 12 year old kid would write and not a grown a$$ man.
And it puzzles me that he uses that same brain to cross the road and do his everyday living.
He is so dedicated to defending Redbird, that even his defense makes no sense.
That’s a new kind of ‘special’.
This seems too good to be true, so probably is.
At this point, Puli is much more dangerous in the box than Morata or Tammy. I don’t know if Pulisic scores that goal in Croatia if Morata was still on the field in the box jamming everything up.
Maybe we just put Pulisic up top until we get a 9. He’s our best pure finisher at this point.
That’s a good point. In fact I would argue that that’s Pulisic’s main strength in attack is his superb shooting from the box. He’s probably one of the best in the league, if not in the world, in that regard. But I can’t see him playing as a pure cf with his back to goal; he needs to get the ball while running towards the goal. His best position really seems to be a second striker.
Maybe a Leao-Pulisic pairing in the spirit of Lautaro-Thuram could work, who knows, but we definitely need a proper striker as well. Gimenez might actually fit the bill
Just hope for the best. Hope Ricci, Gimenez, and Lucca come this January.
Milan really need new players like them.
The good news is, the transfer window is going to be close very soon, so we don’t have to wait too long to find out.
