Journalist believes Man Utd manager will ‘give priority to league’ over Milan clash

By Isak Möller -

Milan will face Man Utd in the Europa League round of 16, as was revealed at the draw earlier today. The first leg will take place on March 11 and it certainly won’t be an easy game for the Rossoneri.

The English side will start at home, having been drawn first from the pot, and this is probably better than starting at home (with the away goals rule). regardless of that, though, Milan will have to be at their best to have a chance.

Since Man Utd are also fighting to make top four in Premier League, it remains to be seen what team Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will field against the Rossoneri. In an interview with MilanNews, The Times journalist Paul Hirst spoke about the matter.

“I think he will give priority to the league. The race for the top four is very tight and United really need to be in the Champions League next year. In any case, they have very good depth, which is why they have done so well this season,” he stated.

Hopefully, Milan will recover some form ahead of the game although there isn’t much time to do so. With a win against Roma on Sunday, their confidence would receive a great boost and this could be the key to a revival.
