AC Milan would be Antonio Conte’s first choice this summer if he were to return to Italy, one journalist has claimed.
Gattuso’s position as manager continues to be the subject of speculation, with the Rossoneri having gather just five points from their last eight Serie A matches.
A 2-0 defeat to Torino on Sunday saw Milan drop to seventh in the table, with qualification for the top four now in serious jeopardy.
There have been a number of links with potential successors, including Mauricio Pochettino most recently, but it appears Conte could also be an avenue worth exploring.
Journalist Luca Serafini has shed some light on speculation surrounding the former Chelsea boss in an interview with Radio Rossonera.
“I understand that Antonio Conte’s first choice would be Milan, so it depends more on the Rossonero knowing that he is a very expensive coach and demands heavy reinforcements.”
Whoever will be the new coach, he must have an attacking mentality. We are fed up with watching a lifeless Milan only waiting for the ref’s final whistle.
