Journalist claims €6m Atalanta star is ‘flattered’ by Milan interest – transfer possible

Milan are always looking for opportunities on the market and in the summer, there will be some interesting free agents available. Having said that, the Rossoneri are also monitoring low-cost operations.

According to journalist Andrea Longoni in his latest piece for MilanNews, the Rossoneri are keeping tabs on Josip Ilicic, who is currently Atalanta. He’s expected to leave the club in the summer and his relationship with the manager is complicated.

At 33-years-old, with a contract expiring in 2022, his price tag is set at around €5-6m and the Bergamo side will try to get as much as possible for his exit. Ilicic himself is flattered by Milan’s interest and it could be the right club for his career.

Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara have identified him as a ‘wildcard’ for the squad to be used as a right-winger or a trequartista. And with the Champions League, they could lure the player to the club.
