Video reveals full dialogue between Maresca, Ibrahimovic and Donnarumma in controversial incident

By Isak Möller -

Many were stunned when Zlatan Ibrahimovic got a red card against Parma last night, as it really came out of nowhere. Most of us assumed he had said something to the referee, but the TV images tell a different story.

By the looks of it, Fabio Maresca misunderstood the 39-year-old and thus handed out the red card. The striker told the referee ‘sembra strano’ (it seems strange) but the latter allegedly thought he said ‘sei un bastardo’ (you are a bastard).

In a video that was published on Twitter by @notgiorgiab, the full dialogue between Maresca, Ibrahimovic and eventually Gigio Donnarumma can be heard.

Ibra (in response to something Maresca said): “You go then. Go home, go home if you don’t care. If you don’t care, it seems strange to me eh (sembra strano).”

Donnarumma’s reaction to the red card: “But what did he do to you? What are you doing Maresca? You always want to be a protagonist.”

Ibra as he walked off the pitch: “But what did he understand?”

  1. Some of these refs not just hard at seeing but also hard at hearing…..Just proves that refereeing is not like wine.It does not get better with age.

    1. I don’t believe that Maresca should be allowed to ref this week or next.
He is not bigger than the game and yes refs should be respected on the pitch, but they should respect players back
Maresca should be seeing an ear specialist straight away
