Journalist explains why possibility of Calhanoglu staying at Milan is ‘still alive’

By Isak Möller -

Hakan Calhanoglu’s contract will expire at the end of the season and he’s yet to reach an agreement with Milan on the renewal. But unlike the Donnarumma situation, the No.10 could still end up signing a new contract.

The Rossoneri have been linked with quite a few playmakers in the last few weeks, including Udinese’s Rodrigo De Paul. However, they might not need to sign a new No.10 as Calhanoglu could decide to renew his deal after all.

In his latest piece for TuttoMercatoWeb, Niccolo Ceccarini explained that Milan are waiting for a signal from Calhanoglu, currently at the Euros with Turkey. The Rossoneri’s offer, of course, is still valid.

To date, the midfielder has received other offers but none of them has convinced him. Therefore, as Ceccarini conclude, the possibility of a renewal is ‘still alive’. It remains to be seen if Calhanoglu will accept it in the end.
