Journalist explains why signing Giroud is ‘a great opportunity’ for Milan

By Isak Möller -

Milan are looking for a striker on the market as they don’t have a proper deputy for Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who was injured a lot this past season. Olivier Giroud has been mentioned a lot and he could be the right man.

The Frenchman seemed destined to leave Chelsea on a free transfer but the English side announced the renewal yesterday. By the looks of it, Giroud will be allowed to leave anyway but Milan aren’t willing to pay any transfer fee.

Speaking live on Sky Italia, as cited by MilanNews, the journalist Massimo Tecca shared his thoughts on the situation. He urged Milan to bring in the Frenchman as it’s ‘a great opportunity’ for the club.

“It’s a great opportunity for Milan. It could also be a stimulus for Rebic and Leao, he’s a deputy or even a competitor for Ibrahimovic. It’s a share of international calibre and experience for Milan. Signing him should be fully approved: great player,” he stated.

The contract renewal has seemingly complicated the matter but the upcoming days will be crucial to understand what the situation is. Either way, Milan are working hard to reinforce the squad with a striker.
