Journalist gives updates on Rangnick plus Milan’s pursuits of Jovic, Thiago Silva and Szoboszlai

Journalist Pietro Balzano Prota has answered a number of questions on a range of topics regarding the Milan transfer market.

He went on a Twitch stream to give some information on the upcoming mercato, and we have compiled a summary of what was said below, with thanks to @SightsMilan on Twitter.

First of all, Prota confirmed that Ralf Rangnick will be the Rossoneri’s next manager, and that a delayed start to next season will have no impact on the German’s arrival other than to push it back slightly. The deal will be announced when the season is over, to respect the work of Stefano Pioli.

He also claims that Rangnick is working on the summer transfer window already, however he is not carrying out any negotiations in person just yet.

He went on to add that it is not impossible to see Sandro Tonali at Milan but it is currently very difficult, while right-back Davide Calabria is most likely to be sacrificed for pure capital gain.

On the chances of Jeremie Boga joining Milan, Prota claims that he no confirmations of any sorts, while in the midfield only Ismael Bennacer and most likely Hakan Calhanoglu are guaranteed to stay with Lucas Paqueta a ‘maybe’.

Thiago Silva has been linked with a sensational return to Milan but the chances are not high, he added, while on the Luka Jovic rumours Prota reports that it is not a simple deal from an economic standpoint but that a two-year loan is possible.

Finally, on Dominik Szoboszlai the club are making some progress and he is still a main target, but there is no chance of signing Kristoffer Ajer from Celtic.
