Journalist makes Milan’s stance clear as Thiago Silva rumours gather steam

By Isak Möller -

Ahead of the upcoming season, Milan are making some changes to the squad. Among other things, the defence is a priority but it seems that Thiago Silva won’t make a return to the club despite all the rumours, a report claims.

As reported by Luca Marchetti for TuttoMercatoWeb, after announcing the departure of Ricardo Rodriguez to Torino yesterday, they are looking to replace him. In addition to Matias Vina of Palmeiras, Iago of Augsburg is also on the radar.

The centre-back position also needs reinforcing, per the report, and Milan are studying several profiles on the transfer market. Thiago Silva, whose contract with PSG will expire at the end of this month, has been heavily linked with the club.

However, according to the journalist, the Rossoneri aren’t thinking about their former defender who would like a return. Fiorentina are also interested and would welcome the 35-year-old with open arms ahead of the season.
