Journalist reveals Milan are hoping for ‘a positive response’ in Calhanoglu saga

By Isak Möller -

Hakan Calhanoglu’s contract will expire at the end of this month and he’s yet to reach an agreement with Milan on the renewal. However, while the saga seemed concluded a few days ago, it isn’t over yet.

In fact, recent reports suggest that the Rossoneri have initiated contacts with the player’s agent once again to discuss the matter. This past season, Calhanoglu was an important player with 4 goals and 10 assists in the league.

Losing him on a free transfer would thus be a disappointment, especially since his wage demand isn’t as high as Gigio Donnarumma (who will leave). Speaking live on Sky Italia, as cited by MilanNews, Luca Marchetti shared his thoughts on the matter.

“Milan are opening a window for the renewal of Calhanoglu, in recent days there have been new contacts. Milan are hoping for a positive response soon, otherwise they will focus on other players,” he stated.

It remains to be seen if Calhanoglu will indeed renew his contract but it’s clear that Milan are making a final attempt, although without offering too much. In the coming days, we should know the outcome of the talks.

  1. Enough with that waste of space already. Just let him go wherever the f… he wants to go and buy someone actually good.

  2. I don’t get this. Where is the consistency pattern?

If a world class Italian #1 goalkeeper from AC Milan’s academy was shown to the door, then there should be 0 chance of this mediocre mercenary staying.

Don’t want to read about this again. Kick him out. Period.
