Moretto: Juventus considering move for Calabria with renewal unlikely – the details

Davide Calabria’s contract is unlikely to be renewed, so he will likely be leaving AC Milan at the end of the 2024/25 season, but other top Serie A clubs are interested.

By all accounts, it seems like Calabria’s time at Milan is coming to an end. In the past few seasons, his popularity has dropped. Even though Emerson Royal has struggled to be consistent, there have been calls for a new addition, rather than the captain, which is quite telling of his situation.

Now, as Matteo Moretto reports on X, the right-back’s situation is currently being looked at by Juventus, who could make a move in June. Evaluations are beginning to take place now, suggesting there is probably no chance of an early move in January.

Whether a possible January deal would bring much revenue is yet to be seen, and with the Rossoneri only having two ‘proper’ right-backs brings another question in itself about whether a deal would be sanctioned to the Bianconeri or someone else.

It is not a new thing for clubs to poach talent from other clubs on pre-contract deals, especially not in Italy. However, whether the Rossoneri will look back at this decision gladly or regretfully will only be told in time, considering he could strengthen a direct rival.

  1. Motta seems to like many Milan players.
I always thought that Milan squad fitted his football better than Juventus.
If Milan management fired Pioli on time, they would have had Motta coaching now, but instead, they kept Pioli on life support for way too long, and now they are on their 3rd coach in 6 months.
That being said, Motta isn’t doing any better at Juventus than what Fonseca did at Milan.
Around the same amount of points, both in Serie A and UCL, no clear style of football, divas on the team acting like divas at Juve as well, while playing like crap on top of it.
    Sounds familiar?
Juventus at this point of the season this year have 11 less points than they did last year under Allegri when they had much weaker squad. And people wanted old man Sarri over Allegri. 😂
Just for comparison, Milan has 6 points less so far than they did under Pioli thru 17 games last year.
The power of the media is shown here.
They created an atmosphere of the sky is falling around Milan since day 1, helped of course by the 2 divas on the team, while at Juventus everything is on the up and up.
Motta calling out Vlahovic, subbing him or benching him at half time was applauded as great coaching, while Fonseca was attacked for doing the same with Theo and Leao.
They spent over 200m last summer and their 3 most expensive players Douglas Luiz, Koopmeiners and Nico Gonzalez, have been dog poo, but all the conversation is about the bum Milan sighed Emerson Royal for 15m.
They are talking about Kalulu, who was again trash yesterday with “great positioning” on the Kean goal, and how Milan made a mistake and should have Kept him, while ignoring the fact that the kid Juventus sold for peanuts in the summer Dean Huijsen is balling in the EPL and Real Madrid is after him.
The power of narrative and power of the media.

    1. You guys talk like motta is this amazing manager that all the clubs wanted. He has indured one of juventus’ worst start to a season and guess what. He’s just as boring as allegriand plays it safe for the tie. Would I prefer that to the position we’re in? Probably lol but motta hasn’t been the top notch manager

    2. The Milan squad suited Pioli as evidenced by us finishing 2nd last season.

But apparently 2nd place is considered such a failure that he was sacked. And now we’re 8th.

      You deserve this.

      1. You realize last year the competition wasn’t as competitive. Second place with a huge gap with the first place. You make it sound like it 1 or 2 point off. Last season was embarrassing if the other team was winning mainly Juve or Atalanta we would have finished 4.
That’s a loser mentality accomplishment last season

    3. Media hyped really does brainwash the young generation because so many people here think Motta is the second coming of Sacchi and apparently De Zerbi is so good Barca wants him Bayern wants him only for him to go to…..FRANCE

  2. What is with Juve wanting all of our players? with the new coach i hope he is re-evaluated and maybe under conceicao’s 4321 or 433 system he will be able to get his form back.

      1. Our players are fluke or accidental winners, nothing proven about any of them.
Proven winner is someone who has won multiple times over, not just that one win that one time.
But then again, you are the same guy that pushed the narrative that Pioli is a proven winner and better coach than Simone Inzaghi, even though Simone Inzaghi has won 10 trophies in 2 different teams in 10 years of coaching, while Pioli won one trophy in 30 years of coaching 10+ teams.
        Proven winners! 🤣🤣🤣

          1. Ha ha 😂.
If you got nothing to say that makes sense just accuse people of being inter fans.
Looking forward to your newest line up of ex Milan players (90% bums) playing for other clubs. For some reason though, you seem to always exclude the best of them all, Hakan Calhanoglu.

  3. ngl no calabria might be another kalulu play great elsewhere i know he isnt great but he is atleast and everyone is better than emerson

      1. Every player who has ever played ever has made mistakes.

You don’t judge players based on one or two bad performances but over the course of seasons/careers.

Kalulu has had many more good games than bad, and was absolutely crucial in our Scudetto winning season.

      2. Nice…you as.sumed people didnt watch the Juve game because he definitely wasn’t responsible for both goals. If anything just the one and that would be the first one where his other defenders left him hung out to dry. 3v2 and the other defender …at left back was McKenie…that’s the gift you speak of?
The second goal was due to Cambiaso slip. Had nothing to do with Kalulu but go ahead and make up numbers to make dude look bad. If you watched the game he made some crucial tackles. Goal saving ones as per usual since he’s been with Juve. The real gift was us gifting him to a rival

  4. I said it half a year ago if we wasn’t gonna renew him he would highly likely end up in a traditional top 5 Serie A club and here we are now…
I’d still renew him but as irritated as I would be seeing him join a direct competitor I wouldn’t really blame him as he has basically been mistreated by the club.

    1. Pirlo was a great player who Milan thought it was old and washed, went to juve and proved that he has plenty of greatness left in him.
Calabria has always been a poor player. Motta or any other coach doesn’t have a magic wand to turn a mediocre player into a proper one, especially not into Pirlo 2.0.
