Davide Calabria’s contract will expire at the end of the season and it doesn’t look like he will renew. As such, AC Milan could part ways with their captain in January and Como have reportedly opened talks.
Since the signing of Emerson Royal, Calabria has struggled to get consistent playing time and injury struggles have also played a part in this. There is little doubt, however, that Paulo Fonseca prefers the Brazilian over the captain of the team.
Calabria’s contract will expire in the summer and it has been known for quite some time that it won’t be renewed. As a result, a move in January appears to be a concrete option and according to Alfredo Pedulla, the newly-promoted Como have opened talks with the player.
There could be more developments in the coming days, as per the journalist, and Como appear keen to reinforce their squad already in January. Seeing as Calabria came through the youth ranks at Milan and hasn’t exactly been in the best of form, the price tag likely won’t be high.
In the meantime, though, Calabria is preparing for the Supercoppa Italiana with Milan and this could be his last chance to lift a trophy with the club. It should be noted that he didn’t get to lift the Scudetto in 2021-22, as Alessio Romagnoli was still the captain then.
I was never a big fan of Calabria if I’m honest, but he has been either injured or in terrible form for god knows how long. He needs to go somewhere else, most likely a relegation battling serie a team, to revive his career.
I just hope someone has a brainfart in the management and we get a quality rb in the summer.
Rensh is gonna be free agent in the summer. Isn’t top quality but has a lot of potential and at 21yo he’s played over 150 games for ayax
Don’t understand this move at all. Sure we all know Clara ria has limits but I still believe he’s a decent RB. He also makes up for what he lacks in elite ability with love for the club. Do we really think Emerson is the answer? Unless we have lined up Bellanova, Tiago Santos or Kayode in January why are we selling him……

They’re pretty awful to watch, I despise the owners and the manager, and they are freezing out the few players we have left who I have any connection to.

I have a closer connection to Como the place, and Cutrone already had me drawn. The thought of Calabria and Cutrone teaming up again is probably the last push for me.

i don’t have issue that we need better RB, but release Calabria when we still keep player like royal/ Flo is joke, even Salad/ Kalulu is better RB than royal.
