Juve defender suffers injury on international duty and could miss Milan clash

By Isak Möller -

Juventus have been dealt a blow ahead of their clash against AC Milan, as Danilo has suffered an injury while on international duty. The game, as such, is at serious risk for the Brazilian.

It was in the game between Brazil and Venezuela, which ended 1-1, that Danilo had to leave the pitch after just 42 minutes. It looked like a muscle injury as he was holding his left thigh, and he was able to walk off the pitch.

After the game, Danilo himself shared his thoughts on the injury (as cited by Calciomercato.com). He confirmed that he will miss the next Brazil game, scheduled for next week, and this he will likely miss the Milan clash too.

“By now, I know my body perfectly, I immediately understood that I had hurt myself and I stopped. I won’t be able to play on Wednesday in Uruguay,” he stated.

It’s a big blow for Juventus who, however, should have both Federico Chiesa and Dusan Vlahovic back for the clash. Milan are also hoping to recover Pierre Kalulu, Rade Krunic and Ruben Loftus-Cheek for the big game.
