FT: Juventus 0-0 Milan

Another draw for Juventus, and Milan’s winning run comes to an end. The Rossoneri had two amazing chances to open the scoring, first through Pulisic and then Leao, so they should definitely be disappointed with this one.

90'

Three minutes added on.

90'
LEAO, HUGE MISS!

Wonderful pass by Modric but Leao completely mistimes it! The shot is saved rather easily in the end. The winger had to do much better there.

85'

Juventus have taken over more and more now. Milan need to find their way back into the game to get the win.

74'
Third sub for Milan...

On: Nkunku.

Off: Pulisic.

72'
LEAO WHAT A CHANCE!

Another fantastic chance for Milan to take the lead! The ball is received by Leao at the far post, and despite chesting it down well, his left-footed effort fails to hit the target.

68'

Leao tries his luck from the halfway line, not a terrible effort, but the feeling is that he should have gone for the counter instead. It was a good opportunity.

62'
First subs for Milan...

On: Leao, Loftus-Cheek.

Off: Gimenez, Fofana.

61'

Milan have actually played quite well after the missed penalty. They certainly haven’t lost any momentum from it.

59'
Yellow card for Bartesaghi

Can’t argue against that, stopping Conceicao in his tracks.

53'
PULISIC MISSES!

That wasn’t what we all expected. A really bad finish from the American there, sending it over the bar after attempting to hit the top corner (by the looks of it, anyway)

52'
PENALTY TO MILAN!

Gimenez brought down in the box by Kelly! Looked like a stonewall penalty to me, but what a pass by Modric.

48'
What did we just see?!

Holy moly, what a save by Maignan! Not sure how he managed to stop that one from such close range, it looked like a certain goal for Gatti. Amazing, truly amazing.

46'
The second half is underway!

Let’s go boys! 45 more minutes to go, no changes made by Allegri.

HT: Juventus 0-0 Milan

Not the most entertaining first half, let’s be honest, as both teams were keen on defending low without giving too much away. That said, there were some chances for both sides, with Juve perhaps having the best ones all things considered.

45'
Yellow card for Fofana

That’s an unlucky one, to be honest, as he tried to get a pass away but the Juve man got to the ball first.

43'

Gimenez heads it wide! That looked like it was going in… Great cross by Pavlovic, of all people, to pick out the striker. Milan need something like that to break the deadlock.

34'

What a chance for Juve! David slips at the final second and thus fails to get a shot away.

Once again, it was a pass to the right-hand side that started the move for the Bianconeri, so Bartesaghi (and perhaps above all Allegri) has some thinking to do.

32'

Nice one, Santi! The Mexican goes on a run and beats several defenders, but the shot is straight at the keeper. Still, that is just what we need to see from him and, if anything, that shows some confidence.

29'

Both teams are sitting very deep in defence, so there isn’t a whole lot of space when attacking, but Modric at least managed to find Rabiot in a good position there. Shot is too high, though.

22'

That’s… not great. Fantastic chance on the counter for Pulisic but he lost his balance in the final moment. Given the form he’s in, you would have expected him to at least get a shot away.

19'

Since it’s such a big game, the referee has a camera strapped to him. We have already seen some replays of this and while the angle isn’t always brilliant, it’s gives us a better view of what the referee sees.

12'

Juventus have found some dangerous spaces in Milan’s box, so the Rossoneri need to be a bit more careful in the defensive phase. The Bianconeri probably should have got at least one good shot away so far.

2'

Bartesaghi responds to the doubts immediately. Very good run down the left and a decent cross too, but Fofana’s effort is off target. Hopefully, the youngster can keep it up.

  1. Ok, a game of missed chances. I cannot see many teams stopping Milan with this squad. Even the subs were decent. Leao looking dangerous, but super rusty. A few more games needed for him. Bartesaghi was ok, Conceicao was getting past him with ease though. The 3 CBs were good tonight. Maignon with a big big save.

  2. I feel very bad for puli, very bad but 0-0 againts this juventus team is good, leao should have scored one but he is slowly coming back. Someone tell this guy tomori to stop raising his hands when he thinks thats its offside. Every single time. Ridiculous.

  3. Bartesaghi played much better in the second half. He’s going to be a really solid back line player with more experience.
That was a fun game to watch! Can’t wait until Leao is back to full form. He draws a lot of attention from opponents and a lot of fouls too.

    1. I hope this is sarcasm at it’s finest. I’ve never seen a “player” as useless as Leao – he won’t do shit besides running with the ball without opposition to then score 1/8 of his chances. This guy shouldn’t even be on the bench as he gives a bad example to the rest of the team. I’d compare him to Balotelli based on effort – only that he’s not even close to having Balos talent though

  4. Sell Leao. He doesn’t want run, pressing, hard work. The most worst is that because of Leao other players suffers in defending, lost their calming. First Pulisic then Tomori shouting at Leao , because he didn’t participate in pressing

  5. Leao is really disappointing . If pulisic and Gimenez had remained we would have scored. The fact he is not pressing makes him a wait. Why do I feel we let this game slip off our hands. We could have gone home with three pionts

    1. Leao came on in the 63rd min…How many goals did Gimenz score up until that point? zero…and Pulisic missed the penalty.

  6. Surprised that Tudor subbed out Yildiz (excellent player) and Conceicao. Bartesaghi improved immediately after Conciecao was taken off.
