Kalulu cautious in Scudetto talks but happy with new signings ‘who will make us grow’

After the comfortable 2-0 win away at Cagliari, Milan are getting ready for an important home clash against Atalanta this evening. Pierre Kalulu, who has impressed a lot lately, will play from the first minute.

As captain Alessio Romagnoli is serving a suspension, the young Frenchman will start alongside Simon Kjaer in the heart of the defence. Not a bad replacement, if you consider just how well the former Lyon man has performed this season.

In an interview with Sky Italia and MilanTV, as cited by MilanNews, Kalulu was also asked about the signings Milan have made this month. So far, the Rossoneri have brought in Soualiho Meite, Mario Mandzukic and Fikayo Tomori; one for each department.

“We are in Serie A, there are a lot of great teams and good players. Players have arrived who will make us grow, then it’s one thing to have a good season and another to win the Scudetto. We will see what happens.

“We prepare all the matches in the same way. They are a strong team with excellent players. I have prepared my best for this match and I hope my speed will help against Atalanta’s forwards.

“This is the first time I won’t play with Romagnoli. I talked a lot with Simon. He helped me a lot and gave me a lot of advice. We talked a lot during the week and we will do it during the match too,” he stated.

The game is scheduled to start at 18:00 and with Inter just behind in the standings, Milan will be looking to secure another three points. A draw would be enough to keep the Nerazzurri away, but a win is always the goal.
