Ahead of the clash between AC Milan and Sassuolo this evening, Simon Kjaer spoke to the media and shared his thoughts on the task at hand. He also commented on the Rossoneri’s recent form, more specifically the draw against Salernitana.
Kjaer is playing from the first minute this evening alongside Theo Hernandez, and not Jan-Carlo Simic as some had perhaps expected. In any case, the Dane will be looking to build on his decent form since recovering from injury.

Speaking to Sky Italia, as cited by MilanNews, Kjaer spoke about tonight’s clash and the Rossoneri’s form after the disappointing draw against Salernitana last time out. He made it clear that a win is very important tonight.
On the Rossoneri’s form…
“We have had good moments but also moments of disappointment. Playing so many games is complicated, today against Sassuolo we have to start again.”
On the results…
“Did the draw in Salerno take away our confidence? No, but it all depends on the result. It will be important to start again from tonight, then with Cagliari and Empoli. Three games that a team like Milan must win. It won’t be easy, because Sassuolo have had good results here, but we have to do it.”
On the team…
“I trust this Milan, my teammates. We are at a point where we could develop even more, with the way we play, with the new players. I have no doubts about this team.”
Bologna lost their clash against Udinese and with a win tonight, Milan can thus head into the new year with some comfort. However, the Rossoneri cannot afford to underestimate the Neroverdi, and a great mentality will be needed.
