Ibrahimovic and Sinner

La Stampa: Why Ibrahimovic’s return to Milan continues to be postponed

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been heavily linked with a return to AC Milan in recent weeks, with multiple reports stating that the announcement is imminent. However, as a new report claims, there is still one key thing to work out.

Milan are keen on bringing Ibrahimovic back to the club and the Swede is seemingly intrigued by the opportunity. He has had more than one meeting with the owner Gerry Cardinale and yesterday, he was present at San Siro once again.

According to La Stampa, as cited by MilanNews, the announcement has been postponed a few times already and that’s because the final details need to be resolved. The role that Ibrahimovic will have – within RedBird and Milan – must be fully defined before the parties can move forward.

In other words, it’s not just a matter of finding the best timing for the announcement. Ibrahimovic is in constant contact with the club and the feeling is that a solution will be found eventually, but for now the timeline remains rather uncertain.

As mentioned, the 42-year-old was present for Milan’s game against Frosinone yesterday and sat in the VIP section, behind the likes of CEO Giorgio Furlani and technical director Geoffrey Moncada.

  1. If a legend like Maldini got treated like crap by Gery then i don’t see any different with Ibra.

Heck. Even if Ibra agreed to come back, i don’t see it will last long like probably a season and he will be fired by Gery.

    1. Gerry probably wants to sign Ibra for his own public image and to boost the morale of the team since there is currently no leader.
The problem is that Ibra will probably want a big role and to have a word in decision making, not just some sort of a mascotte.
Also Ibra is more vocal than Maldini, if he sees what Gerry, Furlani and Moncada are currently doing, I think he’s gonna highkick someone.

      1. It depends, weither Ibra is an corrupted person as the aftermentionned people or a man of principle like Maldini/Leonardo/Boba, only time can tell us

      2. That’s why i said Ibra will not last long if he agreed to come back. He’s more vocal than Maldini and that means he will have more situation where he disagreed with the owner and current management.

  2. If Maldini got public and shared his side of what happened for him to get sacked. We must wait to hear what Redbird has to say about all these allegations. Let’s keep it in mind that now Milan is an American owner and no more an Italian owner so I think if you don’t share in the same vision as theirs ,you are likely to go.

  3. If he accepts to work alongside Furlani-Moncada-Scaroni, that means he is as corrupted as them will be another pawn ar the disposal of Cardinal
