Leao criticised by Italian papers for Bologna display: “Why not change the boots?”

By Isak Möller -

Rafael Leao struggled to impose himself during AC Milan’s game against Bologna last night. When he did get the best of his man, he lacked the final touch to create something dangerous for the Rossoneri.

The Portuguese winger was Milan’s best player at the start of this year but he has really faded lately. Last night was further proof of this and the fans are right to be a bit worried, seeing as he’s an important player for the team.

Leao wasn’t exactly showered with praise by the newspaper this morning. Gazzetta Dello Sport, Tuttosport and Corriere Dello Sport all gave him a 5.5/10, half a point more than he got in our player ratings (5).

Corriere Della Sera, as cited by MilanNews, made an interesting remark about Leao’s performance as he seemingly struggled with his footing. ‘He always slips, why not change the boots?’. Indeed, the youngster could have done a lot better on the left flank and the reality is that Milan will need him to do better.

  1. Did PSG say they want to pay $50-60M for him? Sell him off! He is too lazy to chase the ball. Already behaving like a prima donna. Get belotti. Milan needs a twin strikeforce.

    1. What is this, sell LW to PSG and get free transfer striker? I don’t see what conection link about LW and striker. You should replace leao with LW player too if want to sell leao.

  2. He’s young and his talent is not questionable, but without mental strength and hard work, he won’t be one of the best
