CM: From Leao to Lazetic – Milan’s management planning ahead for possible January exits

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan’s management will make use of the winter break to established their strategies in view of the January transfer window, a report claims.

Calciomercato.com report that Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara are already working on how they might improve the squad available to Stefano Pioli, and while big splashes are not expected a couple of new arrivals could happen to try to raise the quality level.

Particular attention will also be paid to the outgoing players too, with Rafael Leao mentioned first and foremost. The Portuguese winger is almost certainly not going to be sold in the upcoming window, but the negotiation over his renewal could alter certainties.

Then there is Marko Lazetic who has a big market, especially in the Netherlands. There are Eredivisie clubs interested in him and that league could be the ideal destination to nurture and develop the Serbian’s talent over the next six months, because Milan believe a lot in his potential and do now want to lose control of him.

A more complicated January awaits Yacine Adli. At the moment the Frenchman isn’t playing much and possibility of a loan back to Ligue 1 remains, but the Rossoneri would prefer to find a team in Serie A so he can adapt better to Italy. A meeting with his agent at Casa Milan is expected in the next few days.
