Leao equalled Shevchenko’s record after scoring Milan’s only goal against Udinese

Rafael Leao opened the scoring for AC Milan last night but it wasn’t enough to lead the Rossoneri to victory, as Udinese equalised in the second half. However, there is one thing for the Portuguese winger to celebrate.

Despite the poor form of the team, it’s clear that Leao is in very good form himself and in the last few weeks, he has been crucial for Milan. Last night’s goal was another example of that as it wasn’t an easy one, holding off the defender without committing a foul.

And since the game was on a Friday, which is very rare, Leao has now equalled a record set by Andriy Shevchenko during his time at the club: he has become the second player to score in each of the seven days of a week in Serie A with Milan.

A lot of it comes down to luck with the scheduling, in other words, but it’s still very impressive as you still need to get on the scoresheet. Hopefully, Leao can continue his good form and lead Milan out of this tough period.
