Yesterday, Lecce announced that they have exercised the buy-out clause in Lorenzo Colombo’s contract. However, he will not stay at the club as AC Milan have decided to trigger the buy-back clause.
Colombo was sent out on loan this past season and did well with Lecce, scoring the decisive penalty which secured Serie A salvation for the team. In total, the 21-year-old got six goals and two assists.
Speaking during a press conference earlier today, Lecce’s technical director Pantaleo Corvino and sporting director Stefano Trinchera confirmed that Milan have exercised the buy-back. And they also confirmed that they will make almost €2m.
“Milan exercised the counter-exemption for Colombo. €1.5-1.7 million in profit, with the buy-back from Milan,” they said as cited by MilanNews.
This is a very common arrangement especially when a player joins a fellow Serie A side on loan. Serie B clubs are more happy to take on the youth of the top tier for free, but in the first flight something in return is standard procedure.
2m euro to giving experience for colombo . Lets hope he can perform well next season with AC Milan
He won’t play at Milan next season. They will loan him out again most likely.
