In an interview with Sky Italia, following AC Milan’s loss to Sampdoria, sporting director Leonardo spoke about Gennaro Gattuso’s future, among other things.
“Gattuso’s words (read here)? He has a contract with Milan, and we have never questioned him. We have always been clear in this aspect, his future is not a priority right now and the question he got from the journalist amazed me. I can’t see another answer to that question.
“He came here before us, but we never had the idea of replacing him. If we win with Gattuso one day, it will be a beautiful thing. He has made so much history with Milan, it would be beautiful. Then again, two months in football is a long time.
“We must all be good at maintaining a balance. I think this will be our line for the future. We are not looking for alibis, but this is the second youngest team in the league. For many, it is the first confrontation with an important goal,” he concluded.
