Federico Chiesa seems to have made it clear he would be open to playing for AC Milan, but his physical condition must be assessed.

Chiesa is among the various Juventus or ex-Juventus players that have been mentioned in recent days as potentially reuniting with Massimiliano Allegri at Milan. He joined Liverpool last summer but was not used much, and thus the possibility of a summer exit remains.

Milan evaluating Chiesa

This morning’s Corriere della Sera (via MilanNews) takes stock of Chiesa’s future. One of his goals for the upcoming few months is to regain not only a spot in the Italy squad but an established starting role, under the new guidance of Gennaro Gattuso.

Chiesa has ‘sent signals to Allegri’, but in this case Milan must be convinced, as they want to evaluate the player’s physical condition to understand if it is worth making a low-risk investment (in terms of costs).

The real problem, if anything, is his €7.5m salary. This is an amount that Milan deem too much for a player who hasn’t had any consistency on the pitch for two years, with Rafael Leao the current highest earner in the squad at €7m per year.

In Chiesa’s last season in Serie A under Allegri (2023-24), he racked up nine goals and two assists in the league, which was his best season since racking up eight and eight in 2020-21 immediately after joining.

  1. He chose Juve over a promising Milan project in the past. Now he wants to join our sinking ship only in favour of himself. For me a hard no. Go to Como

      1. What is your point exactly? The people who contributed to that project could not know what thunderstorm was going to hit them, neither could Chiesa, neither could we as fans. At the time being Milan was a more promising project than Juve, fact we won scudetto that year proves this, yet he chose Juve

        1. I’ll take him with no hesitation. I still think he has a lot to give despite his failure in Liverpool. He can be a really good addition for Allegri

        2. Just sign him and leave Sentiments
He will up Milan attack and bring in competition in both wings ,he will be a wakeup call for leao and pulici,
