Longo: Ibrahimovic awaits first formal offer from Milan with summit scheduled

By Isak Möller -

Gerry Cardinale will arrive in Milano in the coming days and one of the things on his agenda is the return of Zlatan Ibrahimovic. According to a report, a summit will take place and the first formal offer could be tabled.

Ibrahimovic has been linked with a return to Milan especially in the last few weeks, as the Rossoneri have struggled to keep morale up. The club owner Cardinale will attend Milan-PSG on Tuesday and in addition to the game, he’s expected to meet the Swede.

According to Daniele Longo, a summit has been scheduled between the two and Ibrahimovic is awaiting the first formal offer from the club. Among other things, the 42-year-old wants to find out exactly what the role is and what the tasks will be.

The Milan fans are all dreaming of a return and based on what has been reported so far, Ibrahimovic is willing to say yes. For Cardinale, it would be an important ‘signing’ that certainly add promise to the Rossoneri project.

“I’m getting to know him and I really like him, because he’s a born leader. We need more leaders, we have a very young team and I believe that someone like Zlatan could be effective, both as an advisor for me and as a leader for the whole team,” Cardinale told Gazzetta dello Sport recently.

  1. It was Ibrahimovic and Maldini who mentally supported the players when Milan won the Scudetto. There is no morale leader anymore.

  2. Last yeah both of them were present, though we couldn’t pull off a 5th place (without the 10 point deducted to Juve), we need a CEO Galliani level and Braida Sporting Director, not Furlani & Moncada, above all a True Owner who doesn’t look just at the financial Results
