AC Milan are expected to make an attempt for Fiorentina’s Pietro Comuzzo in the coming hours, according to a report, while Merih Demiral is the alternative.

A lot has happened in the last couple of days mercato-wise. After stating before the Cremonese game that Milan aren’t looking to sign a centre-back, Igli Tare has now changed his mind after several meetings with Max Allegri.

The manager has requested another centre-back to arrive, which makes sense given the three-man backline, and the Rossoneri are now evaluating the options out there. Comuzzo was one of the names before Koni De Winter was signed, and he’s back in fashion.

Attempt expected for Comuzzo

According to Daniele Longo of Calciomercato.com, Milan will make an attempt for Comuzzo in the coming hours. The alternative is Demiral, who appears keen on leaving the Saudi Arabian side Al-Ahli before the window closes.

Comuzzo has also been heavily linked with a move to Saudi and Al-Hilal, but as reported by Sky Italia, the young defender has turned down the move. Fiorentina had received an offer of €35m that they were willing to accept, but the deal is now off.

It remains to be seen if Fiorentina’s request will be as high when Milan come knocking, but it will still probably be around €30m despite the’ Saudi tax’.

  1. why don’t they bring Akandji? the player is 30 years old, he is a champion because he won the English league and the Champions League. What kind of Comuzzo and Demirel? Milan need a leader in defence. Akandji played in the fastest and best league.

  2. Management should now decide what to do and make concrete offers. I fear that the same thing will happen as with the striker. They asked many “good” or at least acceptable strikers, but now it looks as if a young talent with no experience will be coming…

It would’nt be good if they now have to make a “panic buy” for a center back out of fear because they didn’t make any real offers to the good players.

  3. Comuzzo will become a regular starter for the Italian national team, he is better than Gabbia so it will be an improvement

    1. How is his aerial abilities. That is where we get scored on the most. Crosses from the wings were our Achilles heel last year. Yes there were other issues but that’s where many goals came from. Even against Cremonese

  4. Imagine if they listened to Allegri in July and we had our team 1st of August. Some clubs were done by 1st of July.

  5. FFS. At this point I don’t want Comuzzo for 30M on principle. For 35M we could have had the more talented (and better in the air) Leoni. Now we have to go for “option B” because these idiots are idiots. Sound out Aymeric Laporte about a return to European football, as it was rumored he wanted to terminate by mutual consent and that Como was ready to pick him up. Top CB with trophies and international experience to lead this backline of ragamuffins.

  6. I don’t understand why no changes were made to the defense before opening game. Changes were made to the front line and into the midfield, but the defense was left alone despite the fact that we let so many goals get scored by the opposition in just the same way they did in the Cremonese match. I’m excited to see what Koni De Winter can do, and I’m encouraged that Tare is looking for another central defender before the Mercato ends. I just don’t know why anyone was surprised with the performance by the defense last week. I know it takes the whole team, but it’s also true that the definition of insanity is doing the same thing and expecting a different result. Having said that, I’m confident Allegri can get this new group of players to play like a team with grinta given more time.

  7. Might as well have just tried seriously for Leoni. If this is how we play under allegri, we will need the highest quality we can get our hands on to bail us out

    1. In fact I’d bring comuzzo and swap musah + pavlovic for Scalvini. Swap Loftus for rabiot and send Tomori to Marseille or Spurs. With those funds we bring in demiral.

      Estupinian, Comuzzo, Scalvini, De Winter.
      Jashari riccci
      Pulici. Modric. Leao
      Giminez.

  8. LOL!!! Complete utopia!!! Milan won’t be buying an Italian CB because they think each and every one of them is “overpriced”. Watch Moncada go fishing in France instead.
