AC Milan are expected to part ways with Fode Ballo-Toure this summer and this means they will need a new deputy left-back. The former Roma man Riccardo Calafiori could be an option, a report claims.
Fode Ballo-Toure is destined to leave the Rossoneri this summer, with Bologna and Nice interest, and he could be sold for around €4m. This is enough for Milan to avoid a capital loss, which is really all that matters.
According to Daniele Longo, Milan could target Basel left-back Riccardo Calafiori in the event of Ballo-Toure’s exit. The 21-year-old grew up in the academy of Roma and joined the Swiss side for €1m last summer.
In other words, he would be an association-trained player on the UEFA list which is a huge bonus. Milan currently have Davide Calabria, Matteo Gabbia, Tommaso Pobega, Antonio Mirante and Alessandro Florenzi as homegrown/association-players (you need 8 to name a full squad).
Calafiori made 13 Serie A appearances before leaving Roma, registering two assists for the Giallorossi. For Basel, he has one goal and three assists.
They forget that Sportiello is homegrown.
If they say currently then they also forget Colombo and Caldara.
Caldara is likely going to leave. Either way, Calafiori is pretty versatile. Can play as LW too.
Could be a good prospect.
Our Primavera ain’t that good I guess
A solid option.
