Longoni: Origi’s injury paves the way for Rebic – he must silence the critics

By Isak Möller -

Divock Origi is injured once again and Stefano Pioli has been forced back to the drawing board ahead of AC Milan’s clash against Salernitana. Ante Rebic, based on recent reports, is among the candidates to start up front.

Olivier Giroud is the undisputed starter for Milan up front but the Frenchman will return from vacation on December 30th. It’s possible, therefore, that Pioli won’t rush him back into action after a very demanding World Cup.

As highlighted by Andrea Longoni for MilanNews, Rebic is among the candidates to start up front and he has a lot to prove. He usually does well in the second half of the season and has many critics to silence.

It’s a month that will mean a lot for the remainder of the season and also Rebic’s future, most likely, as Milan are less convinced about his qualities. On a good day, the Croatian is certainly unplayable and needs to find that form again.
