Alessio Romagnoli’s contract will expire at the end of the season and since his agent is Mino Raiola, not many expected what has been reported in the last few days. The centre-back, in fact, could end up renewing.
Romagnoli is the captain of the team and although he doesn’t play every game from start, he wants to stay at the club. This indiscretion, as highlighted by Andrea Longoni, has certainly gone down well with the fans.
A few days ago, Milan took a step back from what has been reported about Mino Raiola as they made it clear that they have a professional relationship with every agent. An obvious but necessary move that seems to have gone down well with the agent.
Romagnoli will have to accept a pay cut, there is no doubt about it, but he seems willing to do so. It would demonstrate a great sense of belonging which we all know is very rare nowadays, as Longoni continues.
The pay cut, in this case, sounds worse than it is as Romagnoli has had his salary increased per year, going from €3.5m to around €6m for this last year. Either way, the fans must remain cautious and not take anything for granted with regards to the renewal, which experience has taught us.
