GdS: Maldini and Massara expected to renew this week – the mercato will then accelerate

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan will move forward under the new ownership with Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara still as the directors, a report has claimed.

La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews) writes how the interview Paolo Scaroni gave yesterday to Gr Parliament essentially confirmed once again that Maldini and Massara will be at the helm under the new owners RedBird Capital.

The announcement should arrive by the end of the week as per the paper, and then they should be able to accelerate on the market starting with the players they have worked on for months such as Sven Botman and Renato Sanches, on whom there is competition from Newcastle and PSG respectively. In addition, Rafael Leao’s renewal will be spoken about next month.

The Rossoneri president spoke about the new stadium project too and specified that there will be a meeting between Milan and Inter immediately after the closing between Gerry Cardinale’s fund and Elliott Management, currently expecting in September.

All possibilities remain open and the goal is to pick the project that allows a new stadium to be built quickest, be that next to the current San Siro or in Sesto.
