Sportitalia: Maldini discusses pay rise for Tonali with new agent after summer pay cut

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have held discussions over the potential extension of Sandro Tonali’s contract with his new agent, according to a report.

It was recently confirmed that Tonali has decided to leave agent Beppe Bozzo and switch to the agency of Giuseppe Riso. A photo showed that Tonali has switched to the Gr Sports agency, one that already has Daniel Maldini in its ranks.

According to what Sportitalia (via TMW) are reporting, there was a market meeting between Paolo Maldini and Riso yesterday at the Cova pastry shop in via Montenapoleone. The Rossoneri director had the opportunity to discuss the possibility of an imminent renewal with a pay rise to reward

The 21-year-old is becoming an increasingly important player in Stefano Pioli’s side and their decision to sign him on a permanent deal over the summer after his first season struggles was a sign of their faith, while Tonali took a pay cut to facilitate the deal too, but could get that money back it seems.

  1. If anyone deserved the pay raise this year, it’s Tonali.

I know what some players(Theo, Leao) were awarded and protected in market value, but the way Tonali plays, he deserved the pay raise.

The pay cut he took at the beginning of the season is one reason more.
