Massara hints ‘strong’ Paqueta will not leave; insists Arsenal, West Ham linked midfielder will stay

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan sporting director Ricky Massara has given an update on a number of different situations surrounding Rossoneri players before Friday’s match against Brescia.

The Rossoneri will be looking to make it four wins in a row in all competitions when they face a relegation-battling side at the Stadio Rigamonti.

Massara was interviewed by Sky Italia before the game and lifted the lid on a number of current market issues. His words were transcribed by MilanNews.it.

He began by discussing the speculation surrounding Lucas Paqueta, with a number of outlets reporting he is struggling off the field and asked not to be called up for the game amid links with a move to PSG. His agent Eduardo Uram also commented before the game.

“Are we disappointed? Absolutely not, he is a very serious professional, a sensitive and responsible boy, he is experiencing a moment of fogging, he talks with the coach, they agreed it was better to work today at Milanello to be in excellent condition on Tuesday,” Massara said.

On PSG rumours: “They are rumours that become more intense towards the end of the market, we are happy with Lucas, we are sure he will make an important contribution to this team. There are moments of difficulty, but he is a strong player.”

Meanwhile, it is expected that full-back Ricardo Rodriguez will soon complete a move to Fenerbahce despite their window being blocked due to Financial Fair Play issues.

“Rodriguez is on the bench, focused on this match. Today we have to stay focused, an insidious match awaits us, we want to continue our path and it will take a lot of attention.”

Finally, Massara denied that Franck Kessie will leave despite links with Arsenal and West Ham in recent days.

“Stay until the end of the season? Of course.”
