What Mbappe has said about joining AC Milan amid Barcelona and Saudi Arabia transfer links

By Euan Burns -

He is almost always the primary topic of conversation in football, but Kylian Mbappe is making all of the headlines right now as rumours about his future continue to swirl.

It was reported by CBS journalist James Benge on Monday that Saudi Pro League side Al Hilal has offered PSG €300m for Mbappe, and they will offer the Frenchman a one-year contract. This would mean that he can join Real Madrid on a free transfer in a year’s time.

The format of this deal has alerted every big club in Europe to the possibility of getting Mbappe on a short-term deal.

Whilst it may sound implausible, there have been reports linking Mbappe to AC Milan in the recent past. MARCA reported on Sunday that Milan would be the only viable option in Italy for Mbappe should he leave PSG this summer.

He spoke to La Gazzetta dello Sport in May where he explained that he is a fan of Milan and has a ‘special bond’ with the club thanks to a particular part of his childhood. This discussion happened shortly after images of him as a child in a Milan shirt began to circulate.

“My bond with Milan is special. My nanny was Italian and I spent a lot of time with her family, they all supported Milan,” he said.

“Thanks to them, I watched many Milan games and I’ve become a fan. I used to say: if I ever play in Italy, it will only be at Milan. If I had said something different, they would have killed me.

“Jokes aside, I can only congratulate the Rossoneri, I have many French friends and Ibrahimovic, a legend that I really respect.”

  1. This might be the worst written article in sports history. And I love this part of a quote used to explain why Mbappe favors Milan: “I have many French friends”

You should really just delete this article.

  2. Naaaaaaa… Even if by some miracle he would come to Milan for a year, he seems to have an aura about him that would do more harm than good at Milan and could possibly destabilize the locker room. I’d rather keep our boy Rafa on the left and work with the players we’ve got. Let Inter go after him.

    FORZA MILAN ⚫️🔴

    1. We don’t need one of the best players in the world, who can score 50 goals a year, who is captain of the French national team, winner and finalist of the last two World Cups, praised by his teammates, with a gigantic notoriety? I think we could use him well. Anyway we don’t have the money, neither is Inter.

      1. I just feel that not all that shines is Gold or worth getting. A lot of speculation coming out of PSG lately about the content of his character in the loght of the transfer saga. Of course it could al be damage control.

He’s not a CF, attacks from the Left. Bringing him in would put Leao on the fringes. Why do that? I have the faith in our Portuguese Rockstar to stay, grow and improve even further.

So, yea, no thanks on Mbappe. For me anyway.

  3. Could you imagine AC Milan getting Mbappe for the Complete Forward role up front! They would be an incredible team to challenge in the UCL!

  4. Even IF we could afford him, I’d rather not. We are just not sustainable yet, remember what happened to Juve trying to satisfy CR7’s demands? It destroyed their winning streak and sent their team back a few years, leaving them in financial irregularities. And that’s Juve, who owned their own stadium and backed by strong company.

So, as much as I like Mbappe, it’s just not the right time.

  5. Had a sudden realisation here…

If PSG cash in on M’Bappe in the next month, then they’re not going to hesitate to throw money at Leao and pay his release clause…

Maybe this is why we’re busy signing a lot of attacking players.
